Shipping Oversize Vehicles

Oversize vehicles are often difficult to get transported because many vehicle transportation companies don't have the resources to handle them.  MetroGistics is not like other companies; we can get your oversized vehicle moved without a problem.  There are just a few key pieces of information that we will need in order for us to arrange the appropriate carrier to handle your vehicle dimensions.   The following tips should help clarify the process.

Please provide the year, Make and Model of the vehicle you need shipped. This will assist us in obtaining the specs of the vehicle such as height, weight and length.  The carrier will need this information in order to ensure that it will fit on the transport vehicle.

Let us know if there are aftermarket parts on the vehicle that may increase the dimensions.  Carriers may have cargo size restrictions and will need to make sure that they are not exceeded before transport begins.

Choose a pickup and delivery spot that makes loading your oversize vehicle easy.  Large parking lots usually work best for picking up and delivering, because they give the carrier plenty of room to maneuver the tractor-trailer and to load and unload easily.

Provide contact information for someone at origin and destination. The carrier will need to contact someone when they are on their way to pick up and deliver the vehicle.   Having someone at these locations to sign for the vehicles is very important.

Getting your oversized vehicle may take a day or two longer to get transported. Not all carriers can move oversized vehicles, so it may take a few tries before we find a suitable carrier.  Rest assured that we will get your vehicle moving as soon as we find the appropriate carrier for the job.
